Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology Carried Out forty Public Service Projects Across the Czechia in the month of October
Spanning from Prague to Brno, volunteers transform moral principles and care into tangible civic improvement.
Prague, Czech Republic — October 31st, 2025 — During October, the Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology mobilized in cities throughout the Czech Republic to restore public spaces, support community organizations, and renew a revitalized civic spirit in 4 key cities — Prague; Brno; Plzeň; and Pelhřimov.
In just one month, they completed 40+ activities, mobilizing hundreds of volunteer hours in environmental and humanitarian action inspired by The Way to Happiness, the universal moral code written by L. Ron Hubbard.
Teamwork That Delivers Results
Weekly, fifteen to twenty volunteers collaborated in more than ten community activities, dedicating over 100 hours of volunteer time — in addition to an extra 100 hours for a large-scale restoration effort in the city of Brno.
That single Brno effort filled 150 bags of litter, transforming abandoned grounds into usable green space. In Plzeň, teams tackled an derelict woodland area left dirty and hazardous after temporary encampments, clearing away hazardous debris with diligence and compassion.
“This isn’t glamorous work,” a team member said. “If not us, then who? Every act of service is about restoring dignity — to our surroundings, our neighbors, and our own sense of purpose.”
Interfaith Solidarity
The period also saw hands-on ecumenical partnership. Volunteers gathered and distributed clothing donations to a Catholic charity, showcasing a spirit of solidarity that rises above belief systems.
Ivan Arjona, the Scientology’s envoy to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, emphasized the universal value of such volunteerism:
“Assistance speaks every language. Whether partnering with a church, a city office, or a neighbor in need, our members live by the principle that a better society begins with better people — those who choose to care and to act.”

Ethics in Daily Action
Numerous local VMs also share the The Way to Happiness during their activities. Written as a non-religious ethics manual, it presents 21 principles promoting personal integrity, truthfulness, and environmental responsibility — principles mirrored in the team’s regular projects.
These modest yet steady efforts illustrate how ethical education and community involvement go hand in hand. “With personal accountability, the world improves,” Arjona remarked.
Community Recognition and Ongoing Impact
City officials in multiple Czech cities have recognized the VMs’ steady contribution. Their visible, hands-on presence — from tidying walkways to caring for green spaces — has inspired community members to join or start their own local efforts.
One participant captured the experience succinctly: “No one else was stepping up — so we did.”
The Volunteer Ministers Program
